I kept opening the email back up, and was a little giddy each time I saw it...

But, opening it up another time the next day, something changed

What I think about money

On Early Success and Overvalidation - I feel like I might've been a little too much money a little too early. I'm very happy to win these awards and competitions, but here's what I mean by my earlier comment. In my mind, the awards and honors I was getting far outpaced. I had to make myself beleive that I was supposed to be here,

When I got it, it made me want to make more money (first/second thought)

It also made me more grateful for my parents' roles in my education, as I realized that the money I won couldn't even cover year of my tuition, much less housing costs. I'm truly lucky to have received a college savings that my parents worked on year after year to contribute to with their own hard work and persistence, so I vowed to myself that I would make the most of my time here for them. Beyond just my blood family, I'm lucky that the relationships and comradery I've made with the people here in college that I never once thought I would end up being adopted into I think I'm on the right track right now, even if I fall astray at times, the people around me and my own promises to others will steer me back
